Synthetic route of 1,3-propane sultone
1,3-propane sultone is prepared according to different starting materials, and there are three synthetic routes with practical value.
(1) Synthetic route using n-propyl chloride as a raw material

(2) Synthetic route using acrolein as raw material

(3) Synthetic lines using propylene alcohol as raw material

Use of 1,3-propane sultone
It can be used in the synthesis of tanning, ink and sensitizing materials, 1,3-propane sultone is a new functional fine chemical material. It reacts with many kinds of compounds under very mild conditions, provides sulfonic acid groups accurately, and gives these compounds new properties. It is an excellent general-purpose sulfonating agent and an important pharmaceutical intermediate. It also can be used in brighteners, dyes, dual-ion surfactants, sulfonation.
