By the impact of "hepatitis B vaccine incident" in the end of last year, the newborns in some areas of hepatitis B vaccine vaccination rate was down to 30%. July 25, through the media, experts said that through active efforts, China's current hepatitis B vaccination rate has returned to the past level, but still need to redouble their efforts. Experts reiterated that the birth of newborns should be early vaccination of hepatitis B vaccine.
It is understood that in recent years, China has made significant progress in the field of hepatitis B prevention and control by bringing newborns hepatitis B vaccine into the national immunization program, the 15-year-old population replanting hepatitis B vaccine and other initiatives. In 2006, China's hepatitis B serum epidemiological survey showed that children under 5 years of hepatitis B surface antigen infection rate reduces from 10% in 1992 to less than 1%. In 2012, the World Health Organization assessed that our country has achieved the goal of control of hepatitis B ahead of schedule.
"World Health Organization made it clear that the birth of newborns will be vaccinated against hepatitis B vaccine, the sooner the better, and now there are 107 countries around the world to implement the immunization strategy, that is, newborns within 24 hours should inoculate hepatitis B vaccination. According to China's 1992 survey, newborns are not vaccinated with hepatitis B vaccine. At the age of one year, 9.2% of children will be infected with hepatitis B virus, said Zhuang Hui, an academician of Peking University Health Science Center and Chinese Academy of Engineering. China has about 16 million newborns each year, if 30% of children born not vaccinated with hepatitis B vaccine, for one year, 400,000 people will be infected.
Researcher of Beijing Institute of Biological Products and Chinese Academy of Engineering Zhao Kai said that a number of the latest international research shows that newborns who are not or timely inoculated after birth, hepatitis B surface antigen carrying rate is 60 times than the probability of viral infection compared to timely vaccinated children.
