Fosun Pharma: Join Taizhou local public hospitals to explore a new model of health care

As an active participant in the domestic private health care industry, Fosun Pharma tried to work with public hospitals for the first time to explore a new model of health care integration. August 5, 2014, Fosun Pharmaceutical announced that through a wholly owned subsidiary of Shanghai Medical Hospital Investment Management Co., Ltd. and Taizhou Municipal Hospital Taizhou City Investment Co., Ltd. jointly invested more than 680 million yuan to set up Taizhou Zanyang Healthcare Investigation Management Limited ("Healthcare Company").
Healthcare Company will be responsible for the construction of three operating platform—Taizhou Zanyang hospital, Taizhou Zanyang health center, Taizhou Zanyang Medical equipment Limited, to build and operate to achieve three standard medical institutions such as regional medical institutions and health care center. Among them, Taizhou Zanyang hospital and Taizhou Zanyang health center are as operating entity of medical institutions and health care center, Taizhou Zanyang Medical equipment Limited is responsible for the purchasing of drugs, medical equipment, supplies. After the completion of the project, it is expected that the number of open beds will be about 2,000.
The cooperation, Fosun medicine together with public hospitals, relying on medical resources of Taizhou municipal hospital, will build medical institutions and health center which cover all Zhejiang Southeast region. Taizhou Municipal Hospital will cooperate with Taizhou municipal hospital in management, technology, talent, market and other aspects.
The population of Taizhou City is more than 6 million, ranking third in Zhejiang Province, but the corresponding amount of medical resources gap is large, relative to economic development, population growth and medical needs of the masses. It is understood that Taizhou Municipal Hospital was founded in 1952, is a set of medical, scientific research and teaching. In the future, the newly established hospital and health center is located in Jiaojiang District, Taizhou City, covering an area of about 141 acres, will better meet the regional medical services and professional rehabilitation care needs.
